The Mojave Road 2020

We couldn’t cross Soda Lake to finish the entire Mojave Road in 2019. This year I have my own 4x4 vehicle and I’m driving myself across! No more riding passenger, also means not being able to shoot as much. But still extremely psyched being the first big trip with the brand new Tacoma! I’m falling deeper and deeper in love with it as the miles stack on. It’s all I could’ve wanted at this point in my life while I continue to explore the outdoors. This truck is a huge enabler - It’ll bring me places I’ve never been and it’ll employ new driving skills I have yet to encounter. My family has been deep in Toyota’s as long as I could remember - they’re affordable, easy to maintain, and reliable. We’ve had two Camry’s, a Sienna, a Toyota PIck-Up (yes that’s the model name), a Tundra, and even a MR2 Spyder at one point. A 2019 TRD Pro Tacoma seems almost too idyllic; It doesn’t only feel like a high-end truck, but also extremely practical as a truck generally is. I had been driving my Dad’s Tundra as my daily after he retired, but having something I could start modifying is very exciting.

This year we got a few more to join us for the 150+ mile trek across the Mojave. I took her in some fast sections and I loved every second of it. The rear tires would kick a ton of dirt through mini woops, and as I’d lose traction, I could hear the engine rev up, and catch back down and kick more dirt as she landed. Feel and sounds like a Trophy Truck! Kidding aside, I’ll be putting hundreds of thousands of paved and dirt miles in this truck. I’m looking forward to every single one.
