Makita Tools
Many of my friends call me an absolute tool nut; or more likely a tool, and a nut. I grew up around all variety of mills, lathes, grinders, drill presses. I love the variety in technology; gas powered, pneumatic, hydraulic, electronic. Humans build things with tools, we create things that would not exist without our head and hands.
I'm in a vest, steel toes and a hard hat, with eye and ear pro at the ready. often times through educational, yet lengthy safety meetings, camera in hand. I've been meeting and photographing the boots on the ground. Men and women who are are demolishing and building America and the structures that surround us.
I’m privileged to have worked for a company that’s been around for over 100 years and those who’ve been a huge part of it. To imagine the days before social media, websites, the internet; when they photographed tools with film and dark rooms. To chat with those who’ve committed over 40 years to the company and look back on their work. I loved hearing the early days of creatives, when they had to manually lay out their brochure designs, cut them out by hand to be laminated and mass produced.
